Laxative use over time has been linked to side effects and safety concerns.<\/p>\n<p>But not all strains of probiotic are effective in treating constipation. There is some evidence that sparkling water works even better than plain water.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u0153\u2026 Increasing your intake of especially <u>soluble<\/u> fibre foods like beans, oats, citrus fruits, apples, strawberries, and peas. Recent research indicates that <u>in<\/u>soluble fibre foods like bran, nuts and seeds may actually make the problem worse \u00e2\u20ac\u201c especially in cases of IBS.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u0153\u2026 Exercise \u00e2\u20ac\u201c which has been shown to reduce the symptoms of constipation<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u0153\u2026 Caffeinated coffee stimulates the gut and research at the University of Iowa shows can be 60% more effective than just drinking water.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u0153\u2026 Eating <u>pre<\/u>biotic foods \u00e2\u20ac\u201c the foods that feed <u>pro<\/u>biotics (the good bacteria) in the gut.
